AE Maximinos has students from Pre-School to Secondary Education, aged from 3 years old to eighteen.
We are a School of Reference in the Domain of Vision. We offer Articulated Teaching of Dance and Music.
We have value in adult education (Cube Qualifica Center at Braga municipality).
Our students have been developing the competencies listed in the Profile of Students Leaving Compulsory Schooling since, through the Curriculum Integration References, they must approach, reflect, and debate various subjects from a global point
of view, promoting Critical Thinking and Creative and Personal Development.
Profile of the students we work with:

• With vulnerabilities and risks, in an Educational Territory of Priority Intervention
• Ten percent with special needs (including blind and with low vision)
• Twenty-eight percent foreigners (45 nationalities/ 18 languages)
• Five percent Roma learners
• 5 classes of Portuguese as a non-mother tongue.

It consists of seven schools located in the western part of the city of Braga. On the one hand, it overlooks the oldest and most populated, purely urban part of the city; On the other hand, it is approaching areas that still have rural characteristics. This ambivalence is reflected in the Group’s core characteristics, which are well integrated into the local community. As a Priority Response Education Zone, it offers Pre-School Education up to year 12, as well as Adult Education and Training. It has 1,700 students, eighty of whom are Roma and five hundred of whom are foreigners, from forty-five nationalities, individuals with special needs, and eighteen languages. We are a multicultural school that aims to meet the challenges of school appreciation and social integration.
